It has removable NP armor at the knees (two position height adjustable) and hips. The five outer pockets give you plenty of room to store your cell phone, wallet, keys, etc. These pants have such a casual style they will work great with just about any motorcycle jacket!
If this pair was hanging on the rack with others you would not be able to tell the difference. Not a mark, blemish or sign of wear. The belt allows for a lot of adjustment. The XL is a good fit for 36-38 however I'm a 34 waist and it works fine. I went for the XL to get extra length for my 6'3 height.
